Home Depot is always a good place to buy what you need and they honor the USA military veterans by offering a discount (Menards does not).
Definitely more of a retail store than hardware. Pro desk is ok but forget about even trying to deal with the customer service at all. There’s a few good knowledgeable guys in the departments that can be helpful but most have probably never even lifted a tool or known anything about what they are selling or talking about to include the store manager Joe who is extremely unhelpful and rude to contractors. I couldn’t beleive he was the manager of a store that he knows nothing about. Seems like they get rid of anyone with anyone who actually has exeperiance in a trade. Seems like high turn over probably due to the manger I mentioned. Thankfully I don’t need any help on projects just finding things occasionally as these stores keep things in different places depending on location. but I’ve heard them tell customers some crazy things that I’ve had to step in and address after they left before the customer messed up their house or hurt themselves. I wish they would carry more commonly used items and hire management that actually was knowledgeable in what there selling. Still better service than the Lowe’s down the street but not by much. Lowe’s has more products and better quality choices though.

We went to the store to buy a Zero Gravity Chair for $24. We had just bought one on 38th Street. We went to Michigan Road to see if they had one too. There weren't any in the spot for them so we asked someone to see if they had anymore somewhere else. After searching they (two associates) said they did not have any but we could go to customer service and they could order them for us for the $24. Great, so we went to customer service, stood in line and explained to the lady at the counter what the other associates had told us. First off, she acted like we were lying to her, secondly she was rude to us and basically told us "that is not how it works" in a very condescending tone. Her customer service skills are quite lacking. The way we were treated was quite frustrating. We believe we will just give all of our business to Menards. Thanks but no thanks Home Depot.
I wish I could give zero stars. My husband and I went to the Zionsville Home Depot today, a 45 minute drive, to purchase a refurbished lawnmower he saw two days ago. We were excited to see it was still there but were disappointed that it did not have a bag. We asked for a bit more of a discount but the gentleman there, Mike, wouldn't budge and didn't even offer to check or ask a manager. We decided to buy it and went to pay. We asked if we could make certain that it ran before paying for it and were told by another gentleman that we couldn't. When the cashier rang it up she said it was showing as already purchased and told us we had to go to customer service. No apologies or anything. At customer service we were told it was indeed already purchased but no one had put a sold tag on it. Once again, no apologies, no effort to make things right. My husband and I left angry and we certainly will encourage friends and family to never go there. Four different employees showing that they really didn't care just floored us.
