They took 17 weeks what their contract says will take 2-3 weeks. They added things into the invoices that were not in the contract nor ever mentioned before. The owner shows up unannounced to demand payment before it is due. Then he threatens via email with random, nonsensical statements. The work the subs did is good, but I had to be here every time, every day to tell what to do, what not to do. They had no job supervisor at all. Avoid!
I had a terrible experience with Thomas Jefferson Roofing Company! First salesman was fired while I was talking to him. Second one failed to meet me, and third cancelled a meet. That was my clue....
The positive - I greatly appreciated that this company was willing to work with me on short notice, as the date of completion for a new roof needed to be done by a certain date for insurance money. They completed the roof on time, at a (seemingly) fair price, and threw in the combing out of the A/C unit, which had some hail damage. The roofing specialist we worked with was knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to come out on short notice on a Saturday (while with his son) to get up on the roof to figure out an answer to an insurance question. The negative - I asked our roofing specialist during discussion of payment if the company offers a payment plan. He said they do NOT and that they require half of the full cost up front before completion of job, with the remainder to be paid in full within a week or two of completion. I discovered, while paying the second half of my bill online, that they DO offer financing/payment plan through a 3rd party company. I asked my rep about this - he said he doesn't advise people on this option because of the 3rd party costs they have to pass along, as well as the interest rates for a long term plan. I was told by another company rep that they offer short term 0% financing plans as well... I didn't appreciate being told they do not offer financing when they do. Maybe our rep wasn't as familiar with the financing process, but he also wasn't willing to direct us to someone that could give us information about it. We may have decided to go ahead and pay in full anyway, but we did not get the chance to consider all of our options.
