What I experienced during and after the injections. The area on face was numbed with a lidocaine cream. Then the cream was wiped off and area of injection cleansed. Dr. Finley will gentle pinch below desired area of filler and use it as point of needle insertion. The pain from the needle on a scale of 0-10 is 0.5. You may hear the filler being injected. She used a few different sites to inject the filler. Meaning you will likely need a few injection sites to obtain desirable results. After she was done injecting, she grabbed gauze and applied pressure to injection sites to prevent bleeding which causes bruising. A few hours after injection, I noticed a site with a small bruise. She gave me two small reusable ice packs to use in the office and for at home. You simply apply them periodically throughout the first 24-48 hours. Definitely apply them more often within the first 24 hours. Do not exercise during the first 24 hours. Increasing your blood pressure can cause more bruising at injection sites and possibly lead to more swelling. You will experience swelling which is absolutely normal. Once again let Dr. Finley help you through this process. She is simply amazing!
First time receiving fillers. If this is your first time having fillers injected, I advice you go small. Dr. Finley will listen to your concerns and help you decide. I have juvederm injected into my cheek area. I'm in my early 30's and have an intense exercise routine which is expediting fat loss in my face. Don't hesitate if you're looking to make minor facial changes to keep your youthful beauty. I'm already planning my next visit to her office and adding fillers to other areas on my face. Absolutely worth every dollar spent. Dr. Finley has injected thousands of fillers and has real expectations based completely on the individual.
