Upset, this leads us to picking him up, the receptionist asks me for $180. I was quoted for $27 a night, totaling $54. Not only did we get the vaccination charge which we were never told the exact amount, we were charged for a $60 physical exam which we never agreed to. The reason for this was because it's "required" to run a physical exam to perform this vaccination. I'm not a vet, so I'm not sure exactly what the process is, but when you charge a new customer $60, you better make sure that customer knows what they're being charged for ahead of time. The vaccination was $30. $90 total in which upon making an appointment, they don't tell you about. What can you do? It is what it is.
Been taking all of my pets here since I was a child, great place. Always clean always friendly.
Thank you Dr. Spencer for allowing me to keep my promise to Ginger. I will treasure those last hours with my Gin forever.
Her: That's perfectly OK with me
I have been training my dog for months, taking him out on a consistent schedule, and this has never happened in my home, or in any other home we've taken him to. While we were trying to figure out why this would happen, we hear that they took him out a MAXIMUM of three times per day. How they expect puppies to hold their pee and poop in after only being taken out three times is beyond me.
Good vet place, could not help my cat, but told me where to go to get help.
A day later, I receive a call at 7:30 asking me if I'd like my puppy to be washed. The real reason for the call? He peed and pooped in his crate and was not able to NOT sleep in his own feces. Yes, mam, I'd like my puppy to be washed after he's rolling around in his pee and poop. This shouldn't have required my permission, this is something they should have done on their end.
We had a friend drop him off. He calls us and tells us that there is a vaccination he doesn't have that is required. We were not told of any fees that would come along with this, but were expecting something around $30 when the bill came. You'll see more of this as you read.
Me: Would you take them here knowing that you don't take them out for 14 hours?
Me: Do you have any dogs?
3) One of the receptionist we dealt with, who we later learned took care of our puppy was extremely rude. She came in the middle of our conversation with the other receptionist. Here's how this conversation went:
Me: There are other places that will be able to take our dog out more than 3 times a day. We won't be coming back here:
Me: So, would you take them there knowing they would pee, poop, and sleep with that in their own crate?
I requested that our 6 month old puppy be boarded here for two nights, three days. Upon my request, I was not told of any specific vaccinations he needed to stay over.
Dr. Spencer's compassion and understanding for our family and for the comfort of Ginger is above and beyond what is her job; it is because she is a wonderful person who truly loves the animals she cares for.
2) A $25 fee for cleaning the pup. So, you're telling me after you don't let the dog out for 14 hours, you're going to make us pay to clean him? If puppies frequent here, I assume this happens pretty often.
Her: I don't know why you're getting so upset, that's what puppies do, they pee and poop
Her: My dogs can hold them in
That's some great customer service you have there!
I can't speak for current patrons who's older dog might be used to 14 hours of confinement as the patrons who were coming in and out did seem happy with their experience.
We will not be returning here for dog boarding. I urge puppy owners to do the same thing.
Her: I have 5
As an employee to a new customer, you have a responsibility to let them know this when that customer calls. You also have a responsibility to tell them that if your puppy can't hold their pee for a certain amount of time, this might not be the best option for you.
Her: There is no other place that has what you're looking for
The two positives about the experience here was the job they did washing him, which was excellent, and one of the managers, Leslie, who was the only one who was understanding of our frustration as new customers.
Do not take your puppy here.
Me: Would you have taken them here when they were 6 months old?
Dr. Spencer enabled our family to bring our beloved Ginger home and be comfortable at the end of her life. Dr. Spencer, after a very long and busy day at VCA, came to our home at 7:15 PM this evening to put Gin to sleep.
These guys have been our pet caretaker for years (cats and dog) and are great to work with.
